This is the story of my return to the steel guitar. After 15 years of playing live as a sideman, band member, and band leader, I set aside the pedal steel to concentrate on other parts of my life. I discovered very quickly that I missed having music in my life, so I started studying the art of jazz guitar and the world of music theory. After a considerable hiatus I bought a pedal steel and started applying all the cool things I had learned to my new/old instrument. I’ve since used pedal steel and lap steel on 4 CD’s and am playing live again. These are some of my thoughts on returning to this incredible instrument. I hope you enjoy them.
